One Student Road Show

As part of the annual plan for One Student we committed to taking our most popular and innovative tools and resources to the population we are committed to serving, college campuses. So last week we loaded up and hit the road. We spent time at The University of West Florida, Florida State University and Florida A & M University. We were excited, a little nervous (because we wanted it to be perfect) and really proud of all we have to offer as a very young organization. *Now, would be a great time to thank the donors who have helped us achieve so much so quickly and our supportive Board of Directors who believe if we can dream it we can do it.

We were blown away by the genuine interest and feedback we received from the fine folks in the Florida panhandle. Administrators, staff and students were all equally willing to leverage their social capital to create a significant societal shift and help change the way campus communities view sexual assault. It was invigorating to say the least! In addition to leaving us feeling hopeful and even more determined, meeting with campus stakeholders validated what we believe to be true– one sexual assault is too many and one student can make a difference and perhaps most important, there is room in this movement for all of us. We snagged a few photos of three of our fabulous Collegiate Consortium Board members as well as leaders from the various universities. Go Argos, Noles and Rattlers!

We head to California later this week to meet with members of our Advisory Board and to share One Student with several campuses on the west coast.  The One Student road show will be making its rounds in 2011 and we want to know who else wants to get involved? Do you?

Do you want us to present One Student on your campus? Is this the year you will bring No Woman Left Behind to your community? Have you signed the pledge? Do you have an opinion and want to be a content contributor to the community wall? Are you ready to use our resources to help bring conversations about sex, healthy relationships and sexual assault to your campus? Then we want to hear from you. Today!

One Student exists because we believe that if we all take small, reasonable actions to address sexual violence our results will be remarkable.  Will you be the One?
