At Marquette, I was a part of a peer education group on campus called V.O.I.C.E (Violence Opposition in Community Education). This past year, we were highly effective in reaching almost a quarter of the school undergraduate population. We use primary and secondary educational programs, as well as poster and button campaigns. We have programs in Chemistry labs (every undergraduate, unless tested out, must take Chem 001), club sports teams, Greek life, English 001 programs, Ethics classes, and button campaigns (“Use your VOICE”) across campus. This past year was highly successful using these methods, and Marquette is now starting a peer intervention program, including an online educational module for all freshmen.
