Here is the formal invitation from our new friends at Platform. If you can attend, please do. We think this will be a great space for conversation and innovation. If you cannot attend- reach out and engage with these social change agents. I know we are glad that we did.

A convention will be held in Washington, DC from July 11 to July 13— just months before the general election. We are using this timing to our advantage because we believe that when we come together to say, “these are our issues and if you want our vote you must protect our rights,” we will have a profound impact.Throughout the convention, delegates will hear from SHEroes, including Senator Mazie Hirono, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton and Feminist Majority Foundation Board Member Dee Martin, have the opportunity to learn about the issues from experts during workshops, write and debate a resolution modeled after the Declaration of Sentiments (the document that ignited the U.S. Women’s suffrage movement), and lobby Congress using that very resolution. Our workshop leaders include U.S. Department of Labor, ACLU, Generation Progress, RAINN, National Abortion Federation, AAUW, Quorum, and the Human Rights Campaign! Through these workshops we will work to highlight and address the different experiences of all who identify as women while still celebrating the bonds of sisterhood and the pursuit of progress.
This election cycle is too important for us to stay silent so let’s work together to protect our bodies, our lives, and our futures. For $150 (includes housing, metro ticket, and 2 meals) you can register now: http://platform2016.wix.
